WHICH TESTS SHOULD BE MADE ON EMPTY STOMACH:

  weblogo2png Vitamin B12,

  weblogo2png Folic acid,

  weblogo2png Beta - CrossLaps,

  weblogo2png Homocysteine,

  weblogo2png Iron.


WHICH TESTS SHOULD BE MADE AT SPECIFIC TIME:

  weblogo2png Urine sample (medium stream of 1st morning urine sample),

  weblogo2png Cortisol (high fluctuation throughout the day, recommended around 8am and second measurement around 4pm),

  weblogo2png Glucose on an empty stomach (after a night's rest)

  weblogo2png Beta - CrossLaps,

  weblogo2png Osteocalcin,

  weblogo2png Iron (tests are recommended always at the same time),

  weblogo2png PTH - parathyroid hormone.


TESTS RELATING TO THE CYCLE PHASE:

  weblogo2png Sex hormones (FSH, LH, estradiol, progesterone, prolactin) are measured on days 3 - 5 of the menstrual cycle or days 21-23, depending on your doctor's recommendation,

  weblogo2png The tumor marker CA 125 is not recommended to be measured during menstruation.


THYROID HORMONE TESTS:

  weblogo2png Blood can be taken at any time of the day,

  weblogo2png Thyroxine T4 and Triiodothyronine T3 hormone testing don’t require to be made on an empty stomach.

  weblogo2png Hormone therapy (eg. Euthyrox) can affect the results of total and free T4. It is very important that you do not take these medications the day before your blood is collected. Take your prescribed medicine as soon as your blood is taken.
