Vitamin B12,
Folic acid,
Beta - CrossLaps,
Osteocalcin,
Homocysteine,
Iron.
WHICH TESTS SHOULD BE MADE AT SPECIFIC TIME:
Urine sample (medium stream of 1st morning urine sample),
Cortisol (high fluctuation throughout the day, recommended around 8am and second measurement around 4pm),
Glucose on an empty stomach (after a night's rest)
Beta - CrossLaps,
Osteocalcin,
Iron (tests are recommended always at the same time),
PTH - parathyroid hormone.
TESTS RELATING TO THE CYCLE PHASE:
Sex hormones (FSH, LH, estradiol, progesterone, prolactin) are measured on days 3 - 5 of the menstrual cycle or days 21-23, depending on your doctor's recommendation,
The tumor marker CA 125 is not recommended to be measured during menstruation.
THYROID HORMONE TESTS:
Blood can be taken at any time of the day,
Thyroxine T4 and Triiodothyronine T3 hormone testing don’t require to be made on an empty stomach.
Hormone therapy (eg. Euthyrox) can affect the results of total and free T4. It is very important that you do not take these medications the day before your blood is collected. Take your prescribed medicine as soon as your blood is taken.
